The industry believes this trend will continue, and that 2010 will be a new record year for Norwegian salmon. In January alone
the Norwegian aqua farming industry exported salmon worth NOK 1.8 billion.
- The market in Russia is growing, and we also see major opportunities in the US, says Leif Inge Nordhammer of the aqua faming
company Salmar to the financial newspaper Dagens Næringsliv.
Measured in value, the export of salmon to the US in January this year increased by 276 per cent, compared with January last
year.

The export of salmon from Norway is so far this year 33 per cent higher than in the record year of 2009.
